It doesn't matter who you are, fact is we all want to look good for
every occasion, but not everyone of us can afford to have a
wardrobe/closet full of various attires, that's no big a deal we can have
certain essentials such that we always have the appropriate outfit for
every occasion, yeah; even for play.
1. A CRISP WHITE SHIRT: The perfect white shirt can take you anywhere.
It can be worn with everything in your wardrobe. It can be classy paired
with a business suit and tailored pants or trendy worn with a pair of
skinny jean or patterned crop pants.

if you don't feel the need to wear one that often, you never know when
the opportunity to wear it would arise. Plus you can also wear the piece
seperately. Just make sure you buy one that's made from material that
can stretch a little, this gives a better fit.

Live In Your AnKara
It is no more news that the Ankara fabric(African print) is globally
accepted. The fabric has stood the test of time and is waxing stronger
than ever. It is been used in so many creative ways by designers.
You cannot beat the vibrancy and versatility of the Ankara fabric. It can be seen as tailored tops, skirts, gowns, shirts, trousers, jackets etc. It can be seen as formal to casual wear, ceremonial etc. The Ankara is now seen as an authentic fabric fit for all single creations. The days are long gone when Ankara used to be seen mostly as fabric for women to use and make fashionable dresses, men too can flex the fabric and do some really great styles

However it is not just clothing but also accessories(11th commandment of
fashion, accessories) that have been created from this fabric.
Transforming the Ankara fabric into another form has added value and
beauty. It is not necessary to wear a complete attire of Ankara fabric,
just a touch of the Ankara accessories can give the traditional look you want to create. You can pair an Ankara accessory with any outfit of your choice: ankara belt/suspenders, ankara tie, ankara bangles, ankara ear rings, ankara brooch, ankara purse, ankara neck piece, ankara shoes/slip-on, ankara hair clips/ ruffle...the list is endless

Taking Care Of Your ANKARA Clothing
Don't you just hate it when your Ankara clothes begin to
fade? Yuck! We all do. Well here are some tips on how to care for your Ankara.
1. Your Ankara clothes can be either hand washed or machine washed, personally I prefer it hand washed as washing machines can be extremely rough on the clothing you put inside it.
2. Do not wash your Ankara in hot water; it will only cause it to fade.
3. Avoid using detergents or acidic soaps on your Ankara, rather use quality bar soap/mild soap.
4. Do not soak your Ankara in water for more than you need to, to avoid the weakening of its fibers.
5. Only launder your Ankara clothes when necessary so as to prolong its lifespan.
6. Sometimes we just can't avoid stains, try using baking soda or some other alternative that is not harsh as bleach to get rid of stains.
7. After washing allow to dry properly before ironing.
8. Heat can cause your Ankara to easily fade, it is best to iron on the wrong side (from the inside).
9. The Ankara is very durable and will stand the test of time but being wax, it will eventually begin to slightly fade.

The
role and importance of Fashion in the world today is something that cannot be
ignored but has over the years been emphasized in every facet of the human
life. It’s a means of self expression
that allows us say something to the world about whom we are or who we'd like to
be. The clothes we adorn ourselves with say something about us (intentional or
not) to people we relate with and people we come across in our daily hustles. Every person consciously or unconsciously nurtures
an inner desire to look good. When we think fashion the next thing that comes
to our minds sure is glamour and public admiration but Fashion is more a way of
life and a reflection of inner beauty; not just glamour. We want fashion to fit
our lives and not the other way round, we want fashion to flatter us in every
way possible.
Fashion has evolved over the years
across various cultures and national ethnicities. As our attitude and culture
change, the definitions of fashion changes along with it and in comes a new
trend of fashion. Fashion in Nigeria
has witnessed so many revolutions right from the time of its pre – colonial civilization.
Nigeria a land so rich in culture and tradition would definitely see a proportional
diversity in its fashion trends and traditions. Here, clothes perform a variety
of functions depending on the occasion it is been worn to. From festivals to
party wears, religious meetings to professional clothing, casuals or just a
matter of self expression, one thing for sure is that....fashion is definitely
in.
Globally, fashion designers are inspired by a
lot of things including ethnic differences. Permit me to say that in a designer’s
world, our ethnic differences are celebrated.
Nigerian fashion is already
making its mark in the international scene. The Nigerian fashion industry is
indeed growing very rapidly with events such as Lagos fashion week, Port
Harcourt fashion week and annual shows by fashion designers.
Fashion designing is an art, a
career, a passion, a lifestyle. Now, fashion designers are celebrated for their
creativity. With fashion designers of today, definitely creativity knows no
bound.
